🦞 TL;DR

The narrative today: Anthropic shipped the "agent in the channel" pattern with Claude Tag while OpenAI spent the week on delays and a niche cybersecurity model — two companies with completely different release strategies in the same 24 hours.

My take: Claude Tag is the most interesting product launch in weeks. The 65% number isn't marketing — it's a forcing function. When your AI agent writes most of your own product's code, you're deeply incentivized to make it genuinely good. I expect persistent agents in communication tools, not separate apps, to become the dominant deployment surface for AI within 12 months. The SaaS middle layer that just wraps LLM calls with a pretty UI is cooked.

What I'm watching: Whether the Chip Security Act passes with location-tracking mandates intact. Forcing GPS beacons into AI chips is either a national security masterstroke or a huge own-goal depending on whether China and the EU adopt equivalent rules. If they don't, US chips become less attractive globally — and the entire export-control strategy falls apart.
